Gotta love a good hardware store!
Chris is the man! This is by far the best Ace in Dane County! Verona Ace is never open and never has what you need. Every other Ace in Dane County couldn't help get me the product I needed and said it wasn't possible. Chris at the Hilldale Ace said, "Let me see if I can help you." That's just what he did. Ordered the product I needed by the deadline I needed it by and I'm good to go. Thanks Chris for going the extra mile with your customer service. Hang on to this guy Ace!
Just went to exchange a propane tank. Walked in, no one at counter, so I set the empty tank on the counter. Waited for the clerk and got yelled at for bringing tank in and told to take the tank outside. It would have been nice for someone to be there when I walked in and ask me nicely to not bring it inside. I take the tank outside and return to find the clerk helping someone else. Nice!. What happened to first come first serve. Not here. I pay for the tank, head outside and grab the exchange tank, and hear a guy say "your welcome". How pretentious. I replied, "You were not thanked, and your welcome" It is the customers transactions that keep the business going. Thank the customer do not reply obnoxiously. If you want good hardware go to the Quality True Value on Park st. They know customer service. Unhappy and not returning.
This Ace is full of kind, helpful employees. They've always been willing and able to assist me in getting the right tools for a project or home issue. My go-to hardware store in Madison!
I have been shopping at this hardware store ever since I moved to Madison, now over 11 years ago. The staff have always been very helpful, and I am usually offered help finding things several times during every visit to the store. For that reason, I prefer this store to other ones that are about the same distance from my house. I read some reviews here from people who have had bad experiences. In my personal experience, I have always been very pleased with the customer service at this store.
