After being ignorantly scolded by a particularly peachy member of reception for not " following through on my responsibility as a patient " ( as the other 6 women stood or sat around, hard @ work gossiping ) & 35 minutes into my pre-scheduled session ( which required me to then cancel my second appointment, all the way across town ) I'm finally granted 'permission' to be seen... I get in there, apologizing [ out of graciousness & appreciation not so much because I did anything wrong ] which isn't reciprocated & this person says to me " you seem angry " ..
Very attentive drs
I put everything that happened earlier to the side & attempted to move forward through our time together but it's as if this person couldn't hear me when I spoke [ or simply wasn't listening ]... How could we ever maximize our time together, when you're asking me the same questions as last time - not remembering what we've done in recent sessions -plus- you neglected the most basic function of your job which is covering the basis of communication EX: authorizations.. I'm disheartened as a whole by our 'system' -- the fact we are all just numbers waiting in a never ending line for providers that are spread thin & have too great of a load to carry.. It doesn't make you great by default just because you have huge hospitals & millions of clinics.
I'd given this place a few tries prior to this review to ensure I gave this establishment a proper opportunity... This week, I arrived to my appointment on time [ after a 45 minute drive.. ] I was unable to check in for my appointment, due to not having prior authorization.
It's supposed to be about patient centered health *care* but their love for $$$ & the greed that comes w/ it has created a monster-- one of which I do not believe I'll continue on investing my time in, considering most of it has been a waste up until now.. Ya think they'll be concerned that one life-long loyal patient is stepping away from them due to their valid & deeply rooted hurtful experience(s) ?? Nah. But THAT is entirely the problem, isn't it ?
( please note: the particular Doctor I was seeing privately chooses their patient load therefore handles their authorizations personally... In short ~ this occurrence was legitimately not my fault.. This provider was aware we were running somewhat low on referrals but I still do not blame that individual nor anyone else for anything - we are all human & make mistakes. )
There are a lot of stories I could go into regarding my let downs & disappointments w/ the medical field particularly UW but I'm not here to slander anybody's name... Long story short ~ let's just say I have a countless amount of reasons to feel failed / abandon / heartbroken / disregarded / flat out ignored & yes, even down right angry *but* still I rise, maintaining a positive attitude to the absolute best of my ability-- I deal w/ the blows of life better than most so a quick way to upset me, is to tell me I'm upset when I'm actually just exhausted & frustrated.. Easier for them to claim disgruntled patient VS. take some responsibility. Just because you go to school for so long in order to obtain a fancy degree, doesn't mean ya get to tell your patients how THEY are feeling!
