I had a colonoscopy in August of 2017 as colon cancer runs on both sides of the family. They treated me as well as you could treat anybody. The procedure was explained to me by the nurse step by step and asked if I had any questions. Then the doctor came in explained the procedure and asked if I had any questions. I was comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. They did a great job and I am very thankful for that as well. Everything went picture perfect as far as I'm concerned. Thank you UW digestive center for a job well done.
Having a colonoscopy will never appear on my bucket list. Despite that, I have nothing but good things to say about my recent experience. The UW Digestive Heath Center is an efficiently operated, state of the art facility with compassionate caregivers.
Today is Oct. 1. Their "first available" appointment is Dec. 4. If they want to do a biopsy again - it will be after the first of the year. Unacceptable.
I felt like I was on a colonoscopy conveyor belt. It didn't seem to matter what I needed to be comfortable. Staff in the procedure room ignored my concerns. I realize they do many procedures in a day, but it doesn't take that much longer to treat each patient as more than just the next on the list.
