If I could give it zero stars I would. This was by far the worst retail experience I have ever had and I am a retail management professional myself. My sister and I were shopping for a dress for her when we placed one dress on hold with the intention of coming back in an hour to purchase it. Upon our second arrival, we noticed a nice dress in the window but could not locate the right size on the floor so we asked an associate for the one on display for us. She was very kind and helped happily. While in the fitting room my sister kindly asked the fitting room attendant for a dress she had on hold at the desk so that she may try it on again. This woman (named ANNETTE) reluctantly asked for my sisters name and after a heavy sigh went to get it, returning it with a rude protruding "here." We thought, "ok maybe she's having a bad day" no bid deal. Then the woman came back into the fitting room and practically yelling told my sister that if she was going to try anything on she needed to take the hanger with her otherwise they assume she's stealing because that's what it looks like to them. In which my sister replied that we would next time however everything she was trying on was given to her by their sales associate from the window display. The woman interrupted my sister and continued to express that it's just what it looks like to them. Once the woman walked away another customer came out of the fitting room and looked at my sister in disbelief and shook her head.
Anna and the team at East Towne were phenomenal in helping find the perfect homecoming dress! You want customer service and feel like you have a team helping you find the perfect outfit? Head straight over...
My sister then said she just wanted to leave and was done.
As my sister and I check out we were greeted by a wonderful older woman and she was a real pleasure. She was kind and very attentive, I believe her name was Michiko. While checking out this so called manager named Annette watched my sister and I from afar behind clothing racks and avoided us completely as we walked out- in which I then saw her beeline it to the register. I genuinely felt as if she was profiling my sister and I because we were younger adult woman that perhaps aren't the normal shoppers there- but when looking for a nice dress for an event the Dress Barn usually has plenty. This was terribly disappointing and I will be seeking answers to this woman's consequences.
While she was changing I went out to the floor to find this woman and seek her superior regarding her behavior. Once found, I asked the woman if she was a manager or had a manager available. This woman claimed she was a manager. So I told her that the way she treated my sister was embarrassing and incredibly disrespectful and that no one retail or customer service should ever act that way to a customer and that I wanted to speak to her district manager above her. She refused to give me any information or alternative to speak to and started to walk away. I asked for her name which she ignored me and continued walking, I had to ask again LOUDER in which she finally said over her shoulder "ANNETTE"
