Consistently good food and attentive service at a chain restaurant. Tonight's loaded baked potato was crusted with kosher salt and the salty taste spread out to all the items on the plate.
I hate having to do this because the food really is delicious. I went here with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday and we let the server know before the meal that she had a pepper allergy. The server proceeded to give her salad with ranch that contained red pepper flakes and shrimp with pepper seasoning. If we hadn't noticed the tiny red flakes in the ranch and the orange tinge to the shrimp she could've eaten them and become violently ill and we would've spent my birthday in the hospital. They comped the salad and shrimp, but the more I thought about it the more I realized how completely unacceptable the entire situation was. Being someone who has worked in the food industry for 7 years I know that it is protocol for the kitchen to be made aware of guests with food allergies immediately. Not halfway through a meal. The server is supposed to ring in "ALLERGEN GUEST" while putting the order in the POS so the kitchen switches & cleans their pans and utensils and this clearly didn't happen. The server didn't seem incompetent, maybe just flustered during a busy shift, but when she went back and checked if the shrimp had peppers she literally came back and said "I guess the shrimp does have the pepper seasoning... Is that going to be okay?". Are you kidding me? I emailed their "customer service" and was told I'd get a response in two days tops, its been 6. My girlfriend messaged their Facebook page and only got a response when she posted about the situation on their wall. I have no complaints about the quality of their food or anything like that, but something clearly needs to be done in their training process to make sure their employees aren't killing anyone by being negligent.
Good steak though possibly a little over seasoned for some people. I would definitely go again.
This place has gone down hill. I use to go here for my birthday every year, but the portions are getting smaller. Also, the waitstaff have become like robots, probably the millennium age, with no good interaction with guests. Our steaks were done too rare had to be sent back. Will be picking new restaurant to go to from now on for birthday.
Arrived early tonight 5:30. We were told the wait was 20 minutes. After 45 minutes I asked and was told another 15 minutes due to the kitchen being backed up. After another 20 minutes we were told it would be another 60 minutes. The restaurant was not full. Lots of empty tables. This has happened twice before. We were really faithful customers. We will no longer go to Outback. We wasted an hour tonight and ended up going somewhere else. Time to get it together Outback.
