great little place, smaller than many other asian grocery stores, but still have more stuff than i know what to do with. except fresh produce, don't remember seeing any. will come back.
Small asian store that focus on Korean/Japanese items. The lady that works there was quite rude. She keeps on asking us what we need and was following us closely most of the time while pretending to tidy up the items on shelf that is already in order and move along with us. I just felt unwelcome there.
I feel so sad that there is no zero star point. It was the 3rd visit to Lee's. Whenever we visit here, the woman is always rude and makes us feel uncomfy. She made us hurry to pick items. She may think she is the only one Korean food retailer in Madison. Also the prices are highest. Some of them are even 50% more higher. There is no reason to visit there. If you want to be ripped off and get upset, I recommand.
One star for convenience, one star for a small, tidy stock of largely Korean products, and unfortunately no additional stars due to prices, product breadth, and surprisingly rude staff. I was repeatedly questioned for what I was doing there (i.e. shopping for Asian products) by the woman who ran the shop. Highly disappointing and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth despite being a small local shop. On top of that, the use of the word "Oriental" is problematic...
Okay this place isn't bad, and if you're looking for Korean ingredients specifically this is a better bet than other Asian stores. However if you're looking for Asian groceries go somewhere else. The staff was helpful when I was looking for some ingredients since I didn't know what it looked like. Overall can't complain, especially when it has what you need.
