Our group was blessed with samples from the entire small plate menu. Amazing experience, can't stop thinking about the pork belly. Great wine list, beer list etc etc. Heritage is an absolute gem.
Will go again, but probably not for brunch.
The place is nice and the service was outstanding but the food was just okay. We were seated in the back room and I was cold the whole night because of the AC. The host made adjustments to the heating a couple of times but that only lasted a short while and then I was wrapping my sweater around me again. I didn't realize until we left how cold that room was compared to the room by the bar. Wish I had requested another table.
Best restaurant and chef in Wisconsin. Dan Fox does it better. Try the deep fried and poached egg on the Benedict
The food is very good and there's usually no wait for brunch. However, of the 3 times we've been here, service has been awful. The first time we got forgotten about in a corner. They remedied that well. The other times we had such a hard time getting our waitresses attention. We'd ask for drinks and you'd see your waitress come back out and walk by you several times before actually bringing the drinks. Actually flagging them down to get the check is equally as hard. What you think should be an easy brunch turns into an hour and a half ordeal. For the service we've gotten, it's just not a place we'd recommend or go back to anytime soon.
Ordered the Ocean Trout and someone had been heavy handed with the salt, plus it was undercooked, so I returned the fish. Got a Beet Salad instead that was okay but nothing special. The chef sent us a complimentary ocean trout to make up for the first one (we weren't the only ones with the same complaint). And it was cooked the way a trout should and it made up for the bland beet salad. My partner got a plate with some cheese and escargot and also the boullabaisse. He was happy with what he got.
Went for brunch on a Saturday morning. Sat at the bar. Very slow service. Took us 50 minutes to get our food. Food was alright, perhaps a but too much sauce on top of the crab cake, but the potatoes were fantastic.
